Hi!
We're planning to implement CX and I'd like to get full list of limitations it has... I know 3 only:
1. 100 users
2. single-box having 32 core maximum
3. no connectors to ERP
I've heard 2 more:
1. 32 Gb RAM Limit - is it true?
2. Single application - thus if we need (for any reason) separate applications for budgeting and forecasting, CX doesn't suit our purposes. Is it correct?
Thanks in advance!
Vasily

First thing of note is that what used to just be 100 users is now split to 50 read/write users and 50 read only (I believe.)
The 2 more that you've heard:
1/ 32 Gb RAM Limit - Not one I've heard before and I seriously hope this isn't true - can anyone comment?
2/ Single Application - CX just allows 1 service; you can however buy multiple CX licences to allow multiple services (and a half price or reduced price at least option for a dev box)

Thank you for your reply!
To clarify "CX just allows 1 service": does it mean I can run only one CX application (set of linked models)? Or I can create number of independant sets having their independant data and rules, all of them are launched under single system service?

Re: Cognos Express Limitations
I don't know of any memory limitation for CX and don't believe this to be true.vdodonov wrote:To clarify "CX just allows 1 service": does it mean I can run only one CX application (set of linked models)? You are limited to a single TM1 server instance. You could have as many cubes, models and applications running within this service as you like.
Please place all requests for help in a public thread. I will not answer PMs requesting assistance.

The licensing rules have changed with the release of Cognos Express 10.2.vdodonov wrote:A

1) Max 100 users but, within that, a maximum of 50 Performance Manager users
2) Now limited to 560 PVU's (probably 8 cores , ie 2 x Quad core processors)
3)t doesn't have the Cognos SAP package connector but that is not very good anyway. Most installs of Cognos Express (like TM1) include connections to ERP systems
B
1) Not true and never has been
2) More complicated. I believe you can run multiple instances but a) you need a licence for each instance and b) they cannot be connected using replication. Btw separate applications could live in the same CX instance.
