TM1 clients missing after server restart

when scheduled nightly TM1 chore ran to save data all on server TM1 failed to load data from ram to disk as a result TM1 server went down .
when i looked at TM1 logs i was able to see
ERROR 2013-09-13 20:29:58.312 TM1.Blob CommitDeferredFileCommand - Open failed: err=5 system_err_code=5
ERROR 2013-09-14 07:00:43.757 TM1.Server sf_Rename: Failed to rename (g:\tm1\logs\tm1s.log) to (g:\tm1\logs\tm1s20130914070001.log). Error: Access is denied.
When i restarted TM1 server TM1 clients and groups went missing from server( except Admin client ) .
I copied clients properties cube from differrnt environment and reconfigured clients to concerned groups manually to fix this issue .

Does any one know extract reason why clients went missing from server .
Does any one encounter similar issue.

I am using TM110.1 on windows R2 2008 enterprise with no excel on the server

i included screenshot of TM1 logs in two instances .

Hi Jodha,

The most likelihood of this that the TM1 server did not commit to disk properly (hence the error in the log) and corrupted your {Client control files. When this happens you should see the .Cu$ or .Di$ in your data directory. Renaming them usually does the trick.

I would also check to ensure you have available hard disk space, just in case.

It might be worth checking if there is any anti-virus running too as perhaps it was scanning the TM1s.log file, hence giving you the access denied error.
