TM1 Architect, Cognos BI Security and Siteminder

All,

Running into an interesting issue at a customer site...

We have a 10.1.1 TM1 server running security mode 5...which delegates authentication to Cognos BI...which leverages Siteminder.

If I connect to this server with TM1 Web, I am appropriately challenged by a Siteminder web interface, then upon entry of the appropriate credentials, passed onto TM1Web and everything works as intended.

If I try to connect with Architect 10.1.1 on my desktop, I get the Siteminder web page, which quickly redirects to another page (the customer's intranet page) before credentials can be entered. Not what we want.

Strangely, if I attempt to use Architect 9.5.2 on my desktop, I get the siteminder web page but no instant redirect...I get the opportunity to provide credentials and log in (like TM1Web) and Architect works/behaves as I expect.

No changes were made to the tm1s.cfg file during this testing, this config file has been migrated from a 9.5.2 environment and there are no references to clientminimum version or max version.

Any thoughts?

Just a thought - are your web.config settings the same? Especially the ExternalUrl parameter?

Perhaps I am not following you...but if 10.1.1 TM1Web is working fine...and 9.5.2 Architect is working fine...why would I need to change web.config?

I have nothing in my defence except for the fact that it's Friday evening. Nothing to see here, move along...
