Hi Friends,

I am moving my contributor application from the development environment to the Live Environment, However when i try to import the contributor application on the Live server using the 'Import Option' it gives me an error.
I have run the “}tp_admin_delete_all” process for the new server that i created.
I am importing with the security and application properties checkbox tick.
I have also tried without the security and properties checkbox ticked.

Application import failed.

Description:
An error occurred while creating cognos 8 objects: cmDuplicateName

Has Any one faced this problem before?

Please help.

Hi,

Is your Live Environment's Webserver the same one as was used for development environment?

If it is, you have to delete your original app. You can't install 2 Contributor applications with the same name on the same server.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the prompt reply,

Yes, The Live Environment's webserver is the same one where i have developed the original application, but the TM1 server are different for both the application.

Sorry, I dint knew this that you can't install 2 Contributor applications with the same name on the same server.Cant i rename the application? Because every time I move

my application from development to live I have to define views and deploy it, I am managing the rights by using the import export of the manage rights options.

Please let me know if there is any work around.

Thanks once again.!

I think this is due to the existing object in the Cognos Content store. Delete the contributor link/object in Cognos Connection and try deploying again.
