TM1 Perspectives 9.5 and Excel 2007

My company just upgraded to Excel 2007 from 2003. We only had a few users that had Perspectives installed prior to upgrade. Those of us that did are experiencing issues when opening Perspectives. Excel will start but never will load Perspectives. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times with no luck. The users that did not have it installed prior to the upgrade are not having issues. Any suggestions will be welcome.

Excel is one of the pre-requisites for TM. Excel has to be installed before you install TM1.

Reinstall TM1 on your machine and this will solve your problem

We had Excel 2003 installed along with Perspectives. Then IT pushed a silent upgrade to Excel 2007. After the upgrade we were not able to access Perspectives.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled 2 dozen times and I am still having the same issue.

Thanks,

Cliff

What is the TM1 version on the Server and version on your machine (client)? Also which Operating system and version of Excel 2007 you are using? You need Excel 2007 Service Pack 2 as well.

Check the Excel Addins to see it if TM1 addin has been installed properly or not. See the attached screen shot.

You can also check TM1\bin folder for TM1PRibbonx.xlam file to see if it is there.

Exit Excel, then search for and delete all copies of tm1p.ini on the clients. Perspectives will create a new version with defaults the next time you launch, but remember to re-enter your admin server IP. I had an open ticket with Cognos on this exact bug, but they closed it as "cannot reproduce" despite the fact that every single client we had experienced the same problem....

BTW, make sure to also follow the steps here to fix a major performance issue.
