9.1 Cut-n-Paste into a DBS or DBRW formula

Newbie Mystery Question #9:
I have a spreadsheet with approx. 12,000 values I am trying to load into cube. I have written both a DBS and DBRW formula which I am trying to copy into. If I copy one cell at a time, the Excel copy function works. If I do a block of cells, it does not. Any clues? In meantime just doing straight DBS link with the appropriate cell value. Thanks.

You've never been able to copy a block of cells and paste them directly into DBRW formulas. However as you've discovered, doing it with a single cell will work. This is an undocumented "feature" which I've bagged out previously because I don't like inconsistency when it comes to user interface functionality, and I like it even less when it's not docuemnted. Why the copy and paste functionality wasn't implemented as part of the standard TM1 functionality long ago I have no idea.
In the meantime you can download TM1 Tools (
http://forums.olapforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=2515) which has it built in. Be aware that there are still a few bugs in the copy/paste functionality which I know about (hey, I wrote it in only a few hours...

) and will fix as soon as I have time. (I've done a couple of them in the Dev version but won't be putting up the new one until they're all done.) As long as you pay attention to those it should do what you need.

Thank you sir. You and a few others should be getting a portion of our annual maintenance fee to IBM, if not all of it!
