Hi to all,
I'm novice in TM1 and just install this on my notebook (win2k3 Server, MS SQL Server 2000 SP4, .NET Framework 2.0, 3.5) - after installing I've following error.
Please could you advise something?
BR,
Sander

are you sure that tm1web 9.4 is based on .net 2.0 ?
can't take a look on it at the moment ..
maybe i'm talking crap but i think you should - install .net 1.1 and define the tm1website to use 1.1

Have you checked your IIS on TM1web to be 2.0.50727?
When we initially loaded 9.4 TM1web on the install it would start off with the ASP.NET Version to be set as 1.1.4322, but when we changed the setting to 2.050727 we could connect to TM1web.

That's interesting; because as per my post in response to Adam this afternoon, the installer package gave me a warning that TM1 Web wouldn't run unless .Net version 3 was installed.
It was definitely 1.1 in 9.1 and earlier, though.

Hello
Go to IIS.
Expand Web Sites and Default web sites. Right click on TM1web and go to the properties. Choose the ASP.net bar and see what the ASP.Net version setting is.

See attached for where to change the .Net settings for TM1Web 94.
Alan, the .Net runtime 3 is only needed for the 'new' (9.1 vintage), pretty but flawed rules editor. It's disabled by default in 9.4 anyway and I know that Real TM1 Developers use XRUs anyway....

So the install dialog that I referred to here:
http://forums.olapforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=239
is flat out wrong, then?
(Not that I'm saying that I'd be at all surprised by that, you understand...)

Indeed we do! We also open ring-pull cans with our teeth and eat Vegemite sandwiches for lunch!
(Visualises the entire north western hemisphere grimacing at this point...)

Are you using an x64 version of Windows Server 2003? If so, the reason that you can't see the tab could be here:

Guys,
I had a problem similar to this a few weeks ago. What I did was change the user used by .net to the admin user and worked fine. You could try this or you could try updating the permissions on the .net user,
Jim.

Alan, we found and reported to Cognos that changing the .Net version to 2.x worked. (In the past there have been dreadful problems when running TM1Web and EV on the same box due to different runtimes). Interestingly, .Net 3 is not offered as an option. I must admit I haven't tried TM1Web without downloading the new runtime - I regard bloatware as a fact of the Windows world.
