Hi All,
Does anyone know if it is posible to add a non-Excel derivative file into the Applications folders ?
I want to simply drop a pdf training manual there so that my users can get to it easily, but it seems that the only external files I can add, are .xls, .rux or .xdi
Any help greatly appreciated
Ajay

Depends on your version I think. Early versions could only have Excel, but later versions can have Word docs, PDFs, and I think pretty much anything.

Unfortunately Martin's correct; the ability to add non-Excel documents came in in version 9.1. It's mentioned in the 9.1 release notes. (is_document_1492_Applix91WhatsNew.pdf, page 11.) Since you're on 9.0, you're out of luck.

Except the ability to hyperlink to them from inside a web sheet.
(Cool new avatar, by the way...)

"Except the ability to hyperlink to them from inside a web sheet."
Or...
I inserted the manuals into Excel as an object at one of our client in 9.0.
It was not the most beautiful solution but worked.
From 9.1 you can upload anything.

Peter

On a 9.0 SP3 system, I also made a documentation in Excel. With screenshots and the like. It worked but can't say it's an elegant solution
