Can someone help me to set - Enable user to change the password when He/She logins for the first time to Cognos TM1 Applications (http://host:port/pmpsvc/)

what is your argument for the IntegratedSecurityMode parameter in the cfg file?

Because It is most likely that you are on 5, which means it authenticates based off the users namespace.

Ah ok,

Log into your server explorer,

Right click on a TM1 server, such as "Go_New_Stores"

go to Security

Then go Change Password

and you will then be given a box which allows you to change the password.

User will only use TM1 web/Cognos Insight (Key in data) after Cognos TM1 Applications (http://host:port/pmpsvc/). I want them to change their password when the user(s) login for the first time at (http://host:port/pmpsvc/), but not in Server Explorer (Architect).

Current Process: -
Step 1 : User will only login to (http://host:port/pmpsvc/)
Step 2 : Open the Application in TM1 web/Cognos Insight and key in with planning data

Expected Process :-
Step 1 : Change the password at the time of first login (http://host:port/pmpsvc/)
Step 2 : Open the Application in TM1 web/Cognos Insight and key in with planning data

Step 1 : User will only login to (http://host:port/pmpsvc/) and then change the password
Step 2 : Open the Application in TM1 web/Cognos Insight and key in with planning data

I am keen to know whether any setting is available at fpmpsvc_config.xml or so... where it shall provide my requirement (Change the password by the user (Him/Her self) when they login to Cognos TM1 Applications (http://host:port/pmpsvc/)).

Password management in native TM1 security (integrated security mode 1) is almost non-existent. What you are looking for is password expiration. You are going to have to use CAM to manage your security to get that.

Thanks for the information.

Version 10.1.1
We don't use TM1 Web, just use TM1 app. We setup initial passwords for users and asked them to go to TM1 Web and change their password. After that they don't need to go to TM1 Web, just start using TM1 app going forward using their changed passwords. It worked out well; however, they keep forgetting their passwords. So go for CAM security as suggested previously.

Sounds a bit strange. If you are only using Perspectives/Architect as the client then use windows integrated login. Let the LDAP manage the passwords.
