Microsoft Visual Basic, Run-time error '429': ActiveX component can't create object

Anyone who has got clients on Office 2010 and were updated with the December 9 update may be experiencing issues with workbooks containing ActiveX controls i.e. TI Buttons. As soon as you open the workbook the error is raised and your previous functionality no longer works.

Looks like there may be an official fix for this here.

Good luck.

Please post if this resolves as I do not have anymore clients to test this on.
*Yes, I am asking you to test this for me ;) Feedback appreciated - will post too if I find a suitable subject to test on.

I'm not sure what that update does, but I have a reasonable suspicion since I came across this very issue myself after that update went on. I must confess that I didn't bother looking for a fix as I found that ye olde tried and true method of purging the .exd files resolved it. I therefore wouldn't be at all surprised if the "update package" just automates that process on the increasingly standard (and not always incorrect) assumption by larger software vendors that users can't be trusted to do something like that for themselves in case they fall over and cut themselves.
