In TI, there are two input boxes :
Data Source Name
Data Source Name on Server

You must have direct access to the file/path specify in the first input box from your PC. From Windows environment connecting to UNIX file system is always tricky. Hence in most situation I'll place the file (specified in the 1st input box) on local PC. TI will use this file to reference all the variables etc. The actual loading file will be picked from the 2nd input box which should be placed physically in the UNIX box and has the exact same format as what you have specify in the 1st input box.

Still confuse? Read the TI guide, it should be well documented there.

Just to folow up we use Unix and here is the front page of one of our processes. You can see the windows file path (shared with windows via Samba) in the first bar and the physical address on the UNix server in the second line. I hope this helps.

Thanks to both. This is what i was afraid of.

The way that you both mentioned is what I have been doing but we want to avoid coping files to our local PCs or even connecting our PCs to the UNIX servers.

Our files are rather large and this is a big issue for us going with UNIX. I wish it could just browse through the UNIX directory structure as well as be able to preview them.

I don't think you have much choice. This is what you get when mixing OS platforms. For those of us that user this kind of setup all the time samba becomes part and parcel of the solution,

Jim.

PS. I was pushed in to using Unix as our company policy is to use that platfrom for 64-bit computing. Would have prefered windows myself but there you go (For ease, oh and it's cheaper).
