User Defined Consolidations - PAx

Post by RSK »

Afternoon all,

I currently have an issue with User defined consolidations within PAx, the customer has migrated their old 10.2 server to PA 2.0 where they had some views referencing a user defined consolidation. When we now attempt to pull in the view into worksheet within PAx they now error with the following message

Syntax error at or near ', ['Forecast Input Year].[CY], [Reporting.... ',
character position 799

I'm assuming the above is a MDX error message although it's not 100% obvious.

My next thought is that we could rebuild the view in PAx and publish it but there's not been much success with that.

If we create an exploration you are available to use the SUM function to add up a custom set, however when that view is saved to the model the SUM function isn't retained and the child element are all that appear in the view.

A quick report doesn't allow you to reference the user defined consolidation

When using Dynamic or Custom reports you are unable to recreate the UDC within the edit set functionality as far as I can see.

Does anyone know of a workaround of let me know if I'm missing anything obvious?

I'm not 100% sure I am right on this but I think I remember being at a presentation where it was stated that UDCs were not yet supported but were coming.

(As I remember asking for it to be configurable option as personally I don't like users having this much control)

Thanks Steve, I thought that would be the case.

By UDC I guess you are referring to the "Rollup" button in the subset editor? Could you just use public subsets in place of the UDCs?
Please place all requests for help in a public thread. I will not answer PMs requesting assistance.
