TM1 security Group import Issue

We have cognos 10.2.2 environment for Cognos BI and Tm1.
We have Tm1 security being imported from Cognos BI. So far Everything is running smooth.
Recently we had to create few new groups to be imported to Tm1,while importing these new groups to TM1 it is throwing an error saying "Error adding the group".
But the group is getting added to the Tm1,But in the clientgroups cube it doesnot show the group's display name instead it shows CAM Id.

If u need any more info please ask.

Hello!

I think you have different groups in different folders with one name. The CAMID in TM1 does contain the folder, but the alias "}TM1_Display_Value" (looks like "Cognos\GroupName" does not. TM1 tries to give one alias to different groups and throws the error.
The group names must be unique if you want to import them in TM1.

Thanks for your reply Elessar.

Yes we have 2 folders for groups.
But at first few of the group names are same in both the folders,but later we have renamed the groups with unique names.
We renamed the groups once we faced the error while importing the first group.
We are still facing the issue even after having the unique names.

I try to give few solutions, try your luck it may work:

Sol1: Please check the rules once again, if there are any invalid rules we get this kind of issues.

Sol2: change security mode in tm1s.cfg from 5 to 1, restart TM1 services, add two new groups in Architect, go back to security mode 5, restart TM1 Services and then add additional new groups as normal.

Sol3: set GroupCreationLimit to a higher value in tm1s.cfg file.

Chandugade, Yes! 99% Sol1 is the reason. If you have a rule with error in "}Cube/Element/Dimensionsecurity" cube, TM1 will not let you add new groups.

Try to import a group, get the erorr and look into Message Log (tm1server.log). It will tell you which rule is corrupted.

As Chandugade said there is an issue with few of our rule files.

When imported the groups by disabling the rule files, the groups got imported smoothly without any error.
