Are you using this account to run both the TM1 service AND the TM1 Web Excel service?jhef_077 wrote:We already change the Login to Administrator with administrator rights.
What do you mean by this statement? Does the account used to run the Excel service have full rights to the TM1WebEx folder? Your error message indicates it does not.jhef_077 wrote:And also I put administrator security on the TM1Web folder and TM1WebEx folder

Did you try stopping and restarting "TM1 Excel Service" on the Web server through windows services? Also, confirm that the "TM1 Excel Service" is running under the same user/admin account.

Do you have any ports blocked? I can remember off the top of my head what port the excel service is running on but it might be worth looking into.

Re: TM1 10 > TM1Web > opening excel in application tab
Does localhost resolve to 192.168.4.232?
Does the IUser account have the appropriate privileges?
Are there any hidden Excel sessions on the server?
Do you have more than one network card in the machine?
Are all the applications involved localised to the same locale?
Did none of the documents that the IBM web site point you to after searching for "Cannot connect to TM1 ExcelServices" not help?

Re: TM1 10 > TM1Web > opening excel in application tab
The default port # for the excel service is 4785. We have no port # restriction so we dont have any block port #.
Yes the localhost 192.168.4.232 is been resolved but the error still appear
the IUser account has the full control access with the TM1Web and TM1WebEx (administrative account privileged)
There are no Hidden Excel session on the server
We only have 1 network card for our server
Yes all application are localized
I search for the solution on line even in IBM forum but still i encountered the error

This suggest to me (based on the 'not Localized' bit) that your Excel template was created in an environment with Regional Settings different to those on the server running the TM1ExcelService.exe.jhef_077 wrote:ERROR Applix.TM1.Web.WebControls.TM1WebUtils - <Cannot Connect to TM1 ExcelService : > not Localized
Where are you, in the world? Are you working in a multi-national environment?

Re: TM1 10 > TM1Web > opening excel in application tab
I guess I'm asking what the regional settings are for the machine that is running TM1 Web. Perhaps you're somewhere in Asia like Singapore and the regional settings are doing something with the .xls format such that the TM1ExcelService can't handle the conversion. If you follow release notes for TM1 you'll see that they are always having to fix up stuff with the non-English versions.jhef_077 wrote:Im working with +8 time zone with both workstation and server...same error appears..
Just guessing!

Im still having problem. same error still occurs. I made a testing trying to change the Operating system to WINDOWS 2003 and test the excel application and it works.
What do you think is the difference in WIN2K8 and WIN2K3 they both have same setup configuration?

Re: TM1 10 > TM1Web > opening excel in application tab
Hi - there are a lot of moving pieces in TM1 Web which makes it difficult to trouble shoot i.e. Excel versions, TM1 and TM1ExcelService version, ASP.NET version and IIS setup, different browsers, etc etc.
If you are having the problem with Windows Server 2008 and not with Windows Server 2003 then I would definitely check the IIS set-up between these two environments as I believe the IIS version used by Windows changed.
For what it's worth, I am currently working on 9.5.2 FP2 with Windows Server 2008 and Excel 2003 (on the server for websheet generation) and it works fine.

I'm going to have to suggest you get someone with TM1 Web experience on your site to help you troubleshoot. Good luck!

Re: TM1 10 > TM1Web > opening excel in application tab
Probably a dead thread, but though I'd add a little extra
I've just had a similar problem, I was using a local user which was added to the local admin group on a domain connected server. Everything worked apart from displaying excel reports through tm1web. I was getting the same error as screenshot'd above
I solved the problem by running all the IBM processes as a domain user that was added to the local admin group...
The closest I could get to a service account, but as the user's password changes, I will need to update the logon information that the processes are running under. Not ideal, but will do until I can get a domain service account setup
