Hi all,
We are in the process of testing Tm1 9.4mr1.
Test set up 1 :
Box 1 Tm1 Server 9.4mr1 (64 bits) + FP1 + FP2 + FP3
Box 1 Tm1 client 9.4mr1 (32 bits)
Box 2 Tm1 Web ( + Cognos 8 portlets installed).
Box 1 Tm1 client 9.4mr1 (32 bits)
when testing with this configuration everything works as far as tm1 is concerned. ( tm1 server, tm1 client, tm1 web).
In Cognos, we can see the Tm1 server explorer in a portlet and pick a view.
In Cognos, the view would not retrieve data and prompt with a error message when trying to refresh the view ( the view as such is visible but unable to retrieve data.).
After reviewing our installation process we determined that the FP 1, 2,3 were not run against the tm1 web install on box 2.
We reinitialised the installation on box 2,
Install 9.4mr1 web server and tm1 client.
Install FP1 which ran as expected.
At this stage the cognos issue is fixed and we can fully display Tm1 web through the Cognos portlets...
But to ensure we have our server to the same level to avoid other potential issues of the same kind we want to upgrade tm1 web to the same version as the tm1 server. ( FP3)
When we Install FP2 we unfortunatly get prompt with this message (see picture attached):
"Cannot rename Tm1Web" : access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use.
There is plenty of disk space.
We tryed to run the install after shutting down Tm1 Excel service with the same result. (FP1 install shutdown this service automatically).
Would anybody have an idea on how to resolve this ?
Thanks,

Hi Olivier,
AFAIK the Fix Packs are cumulative, so there is no need to install FP1 and FP2. You can install FP3 directly.
BTW, why are you upgrading to 9.4MR1 and not to 9.5.1. If I had to make the choice now I would go for 9.5.1.

Re: Problem installing 9.4 FP2 for Tm1 Web server
Hi Michel,
Thanks for that reminder,
I still don't quite understand what would prevent FP2 to come on top of FP1 a it is documented as beeing a possible upgrade as well...
We had to go 9.4 as we have an agreement to keep our licencing schema with this version.
If we move to 9.5 we have to go for named licence which will have budget implications...

We will try to upgrade to FP3 directly andsee how it goes...Upgrading to TM1 9.4.1 FP2 Requires 9.4.1 or 9.4.1 FP1 to be Installed
You must have TM1 9.4.1 or TM1 9.4.1 FP1 installed before upgrading to TM1 9.4.1 FP2.

Re: Problem installing 9.4 FP2 for Tm1 Web server
Hi All,
FYI,
Install FP3 directly on top of 9.4MR1 Tm1 web install + Tm1 client did the trick.
All fine now.
Thanks again Michel for pointing that out.
