Is this TM1 limitation?

Post by sachin »

I have a dimension with close to 500 values in it and am having strange issues with it. I tried to simplify and am able to see part of my problem in there. Just created a dimension called 'Row1' with values in it from R1 through R300. On the same lines created another dimension 'Col1' with values C1 through C300. Now create a test cube using these 2 dimensions. Open the cube, set Col1 dimension as Column and Row1 dimension as Row. Scroll all the way to right where you can see C256 and C257 in columns.

These are some of the things (see attachment #1) -
1) The display from C256 through C300 and are all greyed! But we can still enter data in it
2) Scroll downwards and past R32 they are displayed in white!
3) I entered sample values 12 and 24. When I hit F9, the grey area disappears
4) If I now scroll, completely to right and then scroll up to the top.
5) Now scroll left and down to come back to the intersection where sample values are entered. Grey area comes back! AND Depending how you scrolled left, the value 24 is repeated (see attachment #2)

I am able to see this locally on my PC as well as on the server (64 bit installation). Wondering if any of you have seen this before?

Excel 2003.

Are you referring to Compatibility mode in Excel? I am using Architect. Screenshots shown here are from cube viewer in Architect.

Are there any rules or TI processes that are atached to this cube?

No rules, no TI processes on this.

Like I said in my first post, I just created a brand new cube with 300 rows and 300 columns and I see this behavior. Do you?

Which version of TM1 you are on?

If you can Attach your Cube/Dimensions here then I can try opening it under a different TM1 version.

Attached are the 2 dimension and 1 cube file. We are on 9.5

.Dim files were not allowed for uploading. Therefore, rename Row1.txt and Col1.txt to Row1.dim and Col1.dim. Rename test.txt to test.cub.

This is so strange. I have tested this in version 9.5.1 and I get the same gray cells as you. I also tried to recreate the dimensions and cube but the issue is still the same.

I have another environment 9.1 SP3 and the result is bit different - I am not getting any gray cells and I can do the data entry in all the cells but the Column headers are not visible until I enter the date into these cells. See the attached screen shots from version 9.1 SP3.

We are on 9.5.0 ... I guess this is a limitation (or a bug) starting with this version
