TM1-Entracompany Elimination

Hi All,

I would like to know if is possible to do the entracompany elimination in TM1.

Please explain if anybody is using entracompany elimination process in thier current project in TM1.

I think you mean inter-company eliminations. Yes this is common in multi-company financial models.

I also think you ment Intra-Company and prepared a quick demo for you:

The case here is, you have 3 companies. Every company has its own income and costs, so has its own profit/loss. But some of income/costs are inter-company, so when you want to analyze the total for companies and want to eliminate inter-company influence you can do it this way:

1. Build Company dimension like the one in "01. Companies subset.JPG" (note the -1 weight on "Eliminations" element).
2. Write rules like the ones in "03. Rules for eliminations.JPG" (Rules tell TM1 to "copy" the value from "Total Companies without eliminations" to "Eliminations" element for the lines that should be eliminated on the "Total Companies with eliminations" element).

On the view "02. View with eliminations.JPG" you can see the result. Every company has its own P&L, you can analyze P&L for all companies both with and without eliminations.

For intercompany elimination usually you need at least one cube with 2 company dimensions:
- Company
- InterCompany
Maintenance and synchronization of these 2 dimensions can be automated with TI easily.

The complexity of the model usually varying depending on the accuracy you would like to handle in your model.
E.g.
Is it enough for you to compare total due to / due from per company pairs?
Would you like to manage the inter-company matching within the TM1 or your target is only to let the user to split and input the data in the necessary structure to help you in the consolidation?
Do you need to match the data at invoice (or contract) level?
Is there any consolidated company who has different local currency then the consolidation currency?
Do you need capital consolidation?
...

TM1 with its fast calculating rules and TI processes lets you support the consolidation process and calculations including intra-company elimination.
Using the Action Buttons you can build an own "application".
