Re: Reasons for delay in Building cube

Buliding a cube view takes almost 10 mins to build. What could be possible reasons for taking so much of time? Well...... it could be a because there is a lot of data with complex calculations and you are looking at the results for the first time or It is a badly designed system with poor feeders o...

Re: how to reduce time while generating a snapshot

I have been trying to generate a snapshot(using cubeviewer)....total records in snapshot is 350000 records...........Cube having 18 dimensions A cube of 18 dimensions will be cumbersome, confusing and not easy to use. Why are you trying to snapshot the data, is it so the end-users can manipulate th...

Re: TM1 versus PM10

I assume this is Infor PM10. Infor has a reputation for buying legacy products\companies and milking them for their existing customer revenue stream rather than investing in new product development. I had a look at the Infor web site which is pretty vague about technology but, from what I know and w...

Re: How to make TM1 server use lesser number of cores than a

Search "Windows processor affinity". You can assign specific processors to an instance of TM1 before or after it has been launched. I could be wrong but I assume the OP is trying to limit the number of cores for licensing purposes ( ie reducing the PVU count) ? If so, I wonder if this met...

If I'm not wrong both are separate. Deepak Jain You are wrong. TM1 Contributor is part of TM1 introduced in Ver 9.5 ( as Per BariAbdul link). You cannot have Contributor without TM1. Under current version 10.2 it is now called TM1 Applications ( as per Mvaspal link) but is still part of TM1. It pro...

Re: How to Create multiple pages from one in Cafe.

I dont know about CAFÉ ( it is pretty new to TM1) but, if I understand you correctly, you can do this via the traditional Perspectives add-in and the "Print Report" Option. This will cycle round a dimension list , eg cost centre, producing a report for each, which can be either separate wo...

Re: Should we convert our Access & Excel FP&A to TM1?

Tomok is correct. Your company size will be too bigJim. Jim, Can I clarify\correct this. The Cognos Express licensing is limited, not by the size of the organisation, but by the number of users. From IBM licencing viewpoint it is perfectly acceptable to have a departmental CX system in a large mult...

Hi all, This could be a stupid question, but I dont seem to find how to secure the rules from the end users who have access to Perspectives and have write access to the cube. I do not even want them to see that this cube has a rule file. micheline When you say "Perspectives" do you mean E...

Re: TM1 Licensing Clarification

I'm not sure if it is only me but I find quite "confusing" IBM licensing is confusing and, with Cognos Express, they made it even worse because of confusing marketing roles with licenses. Part of the problem is how few IBM people understand the product set and capabilities. Note that CX l...

Re: Need advice in architecture of model

If you have two separate dimensions then the June column can show a value for Employee X in department 1, and the December column can show a value for Employee X in department 2. This design also allows you to easily apportion an employee's costs between departments\cost centres if needed. eg 30% D...

Re: Isolating TM1 from operating system

The easiest way to isolate models is going to be run TM1 on separate VM instances for each of the user bases. That would increase costs a lot. IBM licensing is based on PVU counts and multiple instances can hardly be sized to a reasonable cost impact. Specific response on your licensing point. You ...
