We are using a Cognos BI servers for CAM security in our TM1 Models,This error "Client Name does not exist on the server" we are using the dispatcher to connect to Cognos BI servers. But this error is intermittent only for one or two user this error comes sometimes.I have tried including the parameter SKIPCAMHOST=True parameter in cfg filebut iam not sure whether this error will be removed permanently for the users by implementing this parameter.I tried bouncing the services. Is this the right thing I have implemented or may be this error is due to some other cause.Even we have regenerated the cryptographic key.

We used to have this problem it seems once that happens it is stuck in the memory and won't let the user log on so we got around it by increasing the number of connections in Client security from 1 to 2, some people we have allowed up to 3 connections. We have had no other explanation for it!
Hope this helps

Hi Dilip
Are you getting this error through Architect or on the web?
If you're getting it through Architect, you can try right clicking on the instance you are getting the error on and selecting Logon As...

If the Architect or Perspectives client is left open while the user is logged out and the CAM passport session expires in the meantime then this is the error message that you get on double-clicking the server. Normally if the user has logged on with user name and password and the CAM passport is not expired then you get logged in without re-prompting for credentials on double-click.
As someone else has advised to get around it you just right-click the server and select "logon as". (or close the client and re-open).
As someone who habitually doesn't shut down the PC and leaves Excel open I get this all the time and IMO it is a bug with CAM, what
should happen it that the user get's re-prompted for credentials and doesn't get the "client doesn't exist" error message. But as far as bugs go it is minor and easy to work around.
