10.2 FP1 Not Opening TM1 Web

Guys,

Since I've patched to FP1 I've been seeing some strange stuff. Firstly when I try to performance muddler from with the web app interface it doesn't recognize that it's installed, even if I install it again. I can however open PM via the local short cut and deploy apps.

The second funny is that TM1 Web won't open. The load screen comes up but it goes no where. When I try to reload I get a JSP error:

Code: Select all

note The full stack trace of the root cause is available in the Apache Tomcat/6.0.35 logs.

Apache Tomcat/6.0.35
I've checked and the TM1 Web link looks good:

Code: Select all

 http://machine.domain.com:9510/tm1web/Contributor.jsp
Any ideas why it's not loading guys?

Jim.

We found that after the patch it was necessary to open Cognos Configuration and resave. After that, Web started working.

I just tried that and it didn't work. I have however found as you said that TM1 Web doesn't work. I did however try to save the config before and it failed. I think that's where my problem lies. I may need to reinstall the software and do the save before starting any services,

Jim.

There's also a Tomcat config file you are supposed to delete right after applying the FP, before you launch Cognos Configuration again. Sorry, I don't know the name of the file but the name and location is listed on the IBM web site in the instructions for the FP.

Hi all,

If the issue persists after deletion of the tomcat folder / config file.

Your issue could also be related to "integrated login" and security mode ?
We get a similar web log message when using security mode 2 ( mixed) and calling a view/websheet via url api with 10.2 FP1.

It seems that FP1 has gone backward regarding the use of mixed security mode. ( only mode 1 let you use url api and pass login and password in the url, we do not use CAM so i can't comment on that...).

Hope this helps,

Guys,

I uninstalled 10.2 then reinstalled it. After I reinstalled it I still got an error for Web but the bright side (I think) is that App Web now knows that performance Muddler is installed. I checked out what I think is the TM1 web Tomcat folder (C:\Program Files\ibm\cognos\tm1_64\tomcat\work\Catalina\localhost\tm1web) and it's empty. I don't think it should be empty. Any ideas what I can do about this? I spotted a folder called TM1Web.ga outside of the Tomcat and I was thinking I should copy the contents in. What do you think guys?

Jim.

Hi Jim,

Did you try to strat up TM1 application server ?
I am guessing some files might be generated form first service start ?

If that helps see below a screenshot of the Tm1Web folder content after FP1 install.

Thanks Oliver. I'm having to reinstall from scratch as my tinkering has stopped pretty much everything working. I had however already started the the application server and all my services after my last install run. I didn't however install FP1, The next install run I'll do both,

Jim.

On my 5th install run it worked. I did however on this run make sure all left over folders were deleted.
