Cognos "Batch Process" facility in TM1?

Hi there,

Just a quick Applications question - one of our users needs to create circa 150 cost centre reports in Excel for distributing to non-TM1 users.

We've got a DBRW driven template but they are facing a manual process of copying this sheet 150 times, changing the cost centre element on each one, and value-copying the data. This is a one-off exercise for budget so not a regular monthly requirement.

I could develop a VB macro to cycle through the cost centres one by one, but there are other priorities than supporting VB for a one off.

What i was wondering is, in Cognos planning there used to be a facility called "Batch Process" whereby for a given Excel template the user could automatically create an identical sheet for every element in a given dimension.

I realise TM1 is not an out of the box reporting tool but wanted to check there wasn't a function like this available that i wasn't aware of, before telling the user to do it manually?

Thanks

In Perspectives there is a 'Print Report' option that can perform this function. Some of it's PDF output used to be a bit dodgy but it should do the worksheet replication piece.

Or exporting it from tm1web (snapshot or slice) and clicking the relevant title element.

rmackenzie : That'll do it! Fantastic - I didn't know about that option. Looks like that will work really well if I drop in a Subset of N level elements to work from.

Thanks for the quick responses :-)

MDX driven dynamic subset ;-)
