9.5.2 and Windows 8 / Office 2013 Compatability?

Hello Forum,

Situation Description:
I am adminitering TM1 with some hundred users.
As Windows XP is running out of support in April 2014 we are migrating to Windows 8 and also Office 2013.
Then the only supported version of TM1 when using Windows 8 is TM1 10.2.
But TM1 10.2 is not usable so far - one reason is that comma values are not accepted in TM1 Web when having european formatting for numbers (#.###,00).
(will not be fixed before the second half of 2014 with FP2 :( ).

Question:
What are your recommendations in this situation?
Which version to use and how to implement them?
I would like to keep TM1 9.5.2 and upgrade to 10.2 when at least the major bugs are fixed with FP2.

Thanks a lot in advance
Tilo

You may try running your current Web on Win8 clients, even if not officially supported and use the following information for a mixed environment to get the full clients with Excel Add-in moved to 10.2 FP1 (incl. server components of course and maybe a background Web 10.2 FP1 in parallel).

If you would like to be able to compare between an older and newer version of TM1Web, do not uninstall the current version of TM1Web that you are running. You will be able to still connect from the prior version to the new 10.2 TM1 Server which allows you to compare between versions."

Thanks Gabor,

my favourite case is to avoid upgrading to TM1 10.2 before FP02.
My experience with the newer versions is that you should wait at least a year before implementing it.
The one bug was an example - the most important for me nethertheless and I cannot understand that IBM decided not to fix it with FP01.
