Anyone using TM1Web 10.2 yet?

I've found that it can be much slower than 10.1, particularly when scrolling around large spreadsheets - the scrolling seems to gum up for seconds at a time.

Anyone else found this?

I have used it a few times for demos but not pushed it at all yet. Old demos seem to come up without problems and are pretty fast. In fact the whole experience seems sharper, cleaner and quicker.

Issues I have encountered
- graphics not appearing
- grid line appearing in random places even when turned off in the view.
- there seems to be a difference in display depending on whether the file is a link or uploaded to TM1 server.

When I have time ( ie not just before a demo!) I will try and bottom out these issues and report to IBM.

For a version 1.0 it actually seems pretty good, but we are urging our customers considering upgrade to be cautious and test thoroughly.

This is a part of the on demand fetching. It tries to be intelligent an minimize bandwidth by doing a google maps and loading only what it needs at that moment. I believe they are working on making this more configurable to suit your environment.

The new features of only sending back required cells for the round trip has shown tremendous improvements on refreshing larger sheets.

It still has bugs but the overall performance in our model is very much improved. Once the V1 bugs get worked out I think it will be a good upgrade.

We logged a bug/enhancement request for this issue. Basically what we found is that scrolling constantly refreshes and doesn't cache what you have already scrolled over. Our request was to at least cache what was already viewed so when you tried to scroll back through data you wouldn't have the loading issue. To George's point, IBM is aware of the scrolling and on demand performance issue and we have heard they are working on it.

Thanks for the responses - especially about the caching, I'll raise with IBM as well.

I have come across some other bugs, so yes - very much a version 1 product which is a shame as some of the other features in 10.2 make this upgrade almost indispensible for us.

It was mentioned in another post, but you can upgrade the server components and use the 10.1 .NET web. IBM released some notes that this is supported (google is failing me at the moment). This should allow you to leverage the Multi Threaded Queries and other enhancements while not getting the Java Web bugs.

It's in the FAQ. Check under the "How do I compare versions" question.

I was told FP1 will make it much more usable, which is due on Dec13.

Thanks very much for that info - I got very excited by this, but we're using TM1 application web as well, which doesn't seem to be compatible across 10.2 and 10.1 versions :(

This link implied FP1 isn't due till January 2014...

Flat out stated it, in fact. I'm assuming that Gabor got the info from IBM support but it wouldn't be the first time that we've been given out of date or incorrect details there, depending on what else may be happening behind the scenes at the time.

I thought "13 December" seemed a little too precise and was wondering whether whoever originally provided the information actually meant December of (20)13. December is a target month that I'd heard before, though I can't recall where; that may have been the intended date. IBM tend not to be that precise about the date of their releases (certainly not weeks out from them); I'd assume that's in case any other issues come up and the date slips.

If it has slipped in this case it'd be curious to know what's caused that, but my bet would be on the Web spreading bug being trickier to fix than first thought. Purely speculation, of course.

We'd originally been told mid-December 2013 by our support team and the first time I heard otherwise was on Monday per the link, which as you say, flat out stated it!

It sounds like there are a few important TM1 Web fixes due in FP1. I suppose if the extra wait delivers, then it's worth it.
