How to create Dimension thru Text file using PM

Post by Tm1andTm1 »

Hi,
As per the IBM decision of not supporting Advanced Rules Editor in TM1 Architect and TM1 Perspectives.
See:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.w ... wg27027501

With lot of fear for not supporting Architect in near future, Started modeling on PM.

I am struggling to create a dimension thru PM, Please any one suggest me.
I was able to create one hierarchy but not able to create second and third hierarchy. Thru Process.

Thanks

Why not using rule sheet in excel? I personally dislike PM.
In TM1,the answer is always yes though sometimes with a but....

Hi MacSir,

Rule sheet is fine for writing rules, But I am talking about creating dimension thru process which has 3-4 hierarchy.
Please start liking PM because we will not get TM1 Architect and TM1 Perspectives in next versions of TM1.

Your post implies Perpectives and Architect will be discarded in next version. I guess English is not your first language so you may not have meant it to come across that way, but it could mislead people.

I agree PM is the way IBM would like TM1 developers to move in the future. However, there are still drawbacks with PM (see recent thread) and IBM have certainly not announced (formally or otherwise) that they will be discontinuing Perpectives and Architect in the forseeable future. Five years time?? NO idea!!!
