When .cub and .feeder files are updated ?

Hi All,

I would like to know in what scenarios a .cub and .feeder is updated ?

My client is having inconsistent issue, of persistent feeder files getting recomputed at startup of TM1 server. (Not everytime, only sometimes).

They are unable to identify the specific scenarios/ patterns when it happens and have asked in what scenarios the .cub file gets updated and in what scenarios .feeder file is updated.
(When I say updated, i meant the timestamp of those files, which is used to check if feeders should be recomputed.)

For example :
- Does the .cub file get updated when we create a view ? - I checked with planning sample Server, plan_report cube, but it only creates a plan_Report.test.admin.blb file. No timestamp updation to .cube file.
- Also if a rule is changed due to change in calculation logic where feeders are not affected only the rule date time stamp changes without affecting the feeder files. does this also lead to deletion of feeder file?
=> I checked for plan_report cube, updating rule file. Only plan_Report.blb & plan_Report.RUX updated. No feeder file generated / updated.

Appreciate all the response/insights in advance !

Thanks.

Hey tm1novice - sorry to be a stickler for protocol but the Request for assistance guidelines state that:
tm1forum wrote:1) Ensure that the versions of the software that you're using are specified in your question.
...
6) Give a brief outline of what you've done to find the answer; which manuals or guides you've looked in, what tests you've done.
(6) seems especially relevant in your case. When you say that "My client is having inconsistent issue", did you stop to consider that your client may be happy to pay you to Google?
