replacing dimension with dimension worksheet

Hello,
I inherited a dimension created via a TI process. I noticed there is a duplicate consolidation. However, when I open the Edit Dimension structure to delete that consolidation, it actually doesnt appear.I am thinking of deleting the whole dimension and just using the Dimension Worksheet since we dont add new dimensions often. Is there a way to do it to ensure I dont lose any data?
I was thinking of doing Export Dimension. Fix the error in the cma file and use that file as the new dimension worksheet. Will that work?

yes that will work, but if you *think* you have a dupliacte consolidation but cannot find it in the editor, then its more likely that you don't have a duplicate in the first place. if its not broke don't fix it :)

Hey Steven,
It is in the editor but it only appears after I click the - and then the + of the consolidation.I guess this problem is related to my earlier post about "All" not capturing all hierarchies.

Hi telula,

The 'All' button lists all unique elements that are defined in the dimension. If an element (either base level or consolidated level) appears multiple times in the dimension (in different hierarchies), only the first occurrence of the element will be listed.
If you want to open up all hierarchies you can use the 'Expand all elements' button in the subset/dimension editor.

Please note that the duplicate consolidation you're referring to could be added twice in the shown subset, but this does not necessarily need be the case in the actual dimension structure. In this case you only need to change the subset, not the dimension structure.
