"Access Denied" error while installing TM1

Hi there,

I am trying to install TM1 on my laptop for a test. When I use domain\user and password, such as wchen-PC\w chen, the error message " Access Denied" pops up. Here wchen-pc is the computer name, and w chen is user name and it's administrator.

Can you give me some hints of the problem?

Many Thanks.

WChen

I'd try it with an account name which doesn't have any spaces in it. Use of anything other than alphanumeric characters and underscores in system related names should be a hangin' offence for administrators, regardless of whether the O/S permits it.

I wouldn't be too surprised if that's causing your problems; the install program may not be able to parse the user name correctly. You could try putting quote marks around the name, but better to have a space free user name.

If that's not it, it may be necessary to look at your access. (I know you said it's administrator, but administrator isn't always administrator, especially if it's Vista. You haven't said what your O/S is.)

If Alan's suggestion did not work you can try right clicking on the setup.exe file and choose 'run as administrator'.

If "Run As Admin" doesnt work for you. Try to enable UAC feature in Vista before installing TM1 in your Vista Machine
