I am trying to load data from CSV file in to TM1 cube. When i run a process it gives me below error
"AA0035","AA003505.....Data source line(75) can't convert field number 6 ,value "DRA10" to a real numer.
I have went through previous post of the same error and checked the CSV source file in which all the columns are set to 'General' and it is saved
as CSV.I have also tried to change the variable type to numeric still no success.Any other way to get out of this ,Please. Thanks

From your prior posts it would appear that you are a consultant charging for your TM1 services. The issue you are raising here is at a level of difficulty that a paid consultant should be able to resolve it without outside help. Your question would be better directed to people within your organisation who are there to help you develop your skills. Alternatively you might ask your employer to put you on an IBM or IBM Partner training course.
If the assumption that you are a consultant/contractor is incorrect, please make that known. Forum members are generally more willing to support basic questions from end users than from those who charge for their TM1 knowledge.

Slow down. No reason to get testy. Your use of the term "client" in previous posts made Alan suspicious. I thought his question was rather measured and reasonable. BTW, any chance you know TM1ethusiast?
On your question, the answer is right there in the error message:
can't convert field number 6 ,value "DRA10" to a real numer
Maybe you should revisit your assumption that this field should be imported as a number when you get this error.
Matt
P.S. Please have a quick read of the
Request for Assistance Guidelines. You provide very little context to allow others to help, and you've obviously retyped the error (since you made a typo) instead of copy/paste.

I think there is a problem with the forum layout that can lead to a misunderstanding. Follow the link on BariAbdul's profile to his posts
http://www.tm1forum.com/search.php?auth ... 7&sr=posts Looking down list on the left at the post summaries It looks as though he has referred to "my clients" in his posting on 15 Jan when in fact he is quoting the original poster. Unfortunately the quote marks don't come through.
On the other hand his post of 20 Feb does refer to "my client" so I think Alan's comment was justified!

Alan was not being scornful. You have talked about "my client" in a previous post so I think Alan's assumption was reasonable and, on that basis, his comments were fair.
Indeed given the nature of your post I think he was very restrained! I am not a technical TM1 guru but with my basic mathematics skills even I can work out that "DRA10" is not a real number. (see
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_number). I would expect a TM1 support professional to be able to investigate and resolve this rather than immediately calling on a voluntary forum.
Alan, like many contributors to this forum , gives a huge amount of time, sharing his accumulated knowledge to help and encourage other TM1 users. However it is reasonable to expect that people should do some work themselves before calling on this resource. I am sure that, if you follow the posting guidelines and use your common sense, these gurus will be very happy to help you. Happy posting

Thanks Stephen, though it's interesting that the same response wasn't delivered to Martin's (not coincidentally) identical and
equally justified post! The points that you raise are valid.
But there's also the fact that (and here I'm speaking in general terms, purely hypothetically, of course) nothing on the Internet is truly anonymous. It doesn't matter what user names are used, it doesn't matter whether accounts are registered using e-mail addresses from a different country.
Nothing is truly anonymous. Where people post from, what they post both here and elsewhere... it's all traceable, and connectible. And over a period of time it's really not that difficult to determine who someone really is, where they really post from, which company they work for, and so forth. Of course, well behaved site administrators would never go and openly "out" such details out of respect for members' privacy. But that doesn't mean that they aren't
aware of them.
It's a thought worth chewing over. In general terms, naturally. Hypothetically, of course.
PS: "BariAbdul", I'm not your "mate".
PPS: Believe me when I tell you that you haven't ever
seen me deliver scorn.
