We are using Cognos Express Planning Ver10. In Architect module we have one cube which in production. Now I am planning remove all element from one Dimension and upload new element in same dimension and adding one more level in dimension . We are using Forecast in Planning modules.
My Question is 1) after this changes what will happen with our current views which already published in Planner Application? what I have to do?

2) What are the risk factors after change the element in dimension ?

## 3) Basic Question : What are the steps from 'Cube build in Architect' to Published the cube in application for data entery in forecast module?

Please help me.

1) Your views will probably have to be rebuilt and republished if you're removing all elements from the dimension and replacing them with completely new ones.
2) All your data will be deleted. All your views will have to be rebuilt.
3) Documentation is the best place to resolve this one as it will cover off all the steps in more detail that you'd get from a quick forum reply.

You should investigate swapping alias and principal name with TI. This could avoid having to reload any data. First change the element name then just add the new parent (which I assume will have the same name as the current N element).

Thanks. Can I copy and Paste all views in Cube ? My DRP Plan is Copy CXMD folder and Take Application Backup , if some thing goes wrong then
i will restore CXMD and Application Backup. In that case will i get back all Data and Application( Views,Security )?

Thanks Again.

Did you look up SwapAliasWithPrincipalName like I recommended? This would avoid you deleting any elements and would be much simpler if you do it correctly! (I would always still do a data directory backup first.)
