Capturing User Name and Time stamp on TM1 web

Post by charan »

Hi,

I have a requirement, In TM1 I have a report which is sliced from my cube and updated to Application folder on server and same is published to TM1 web, to this report I have created a link(Hyperlink) and given to Cognos BI report to pass the parameters. According to parameters passed the report is opening.

Now I need to capture User name and Time stamp on the TM1 web report. I have used TM1user and Now function in excel but my question is how to give this as parameter in my link.

http://servername/TM1Web/TM1WebMain.asp ... 2=Mar-2012

Please help me.

Thanking you

Wow you waited a whole 6 hours before bumping your own post. You obviously have very high expectations. I wonder whether your clients have similarly high expectations and how satisfied they are with the expert advice and support that they receive?

Now I may be missing something here or you may have mis-formulated your description of what you want to solve but it seems to me that you want to jump to a specific TM1 Web websheet via a hyperlink from an external source, is that correct? ... and that when the user lands in the TM1 websheet they should see their user ID and timestamp, again is this correct? You say in this case the external source is a Cognos BI report but that seems irrelevant, it could just as well be from anywhere.

Now assuming the above is correct which as per reading your post I can only assume it should be. Think about it. Now think harder than you usually would about it and remember that a hapless customer out there is paying you to think about it and provide a solution.

I think there you have your own answer! As in the websheet you can use the TM1User and Now functions you have absolutely no need of passing this information in as a parameter from an external source as you can display this directly in the report in TM1 web once the user gets there.

Now how does one get a cut of your consulting fees?
