Hi,
I have installed Cognos TM1 10.1.1 on Windows 2008 RC2 (server computer) without a problem. I can start Cognos TM1 Architect and everything is working fine.

Now I have installed Cognos TM1 Architect on my client Windows XP computer from:
IBM_Cognos_TM1_Client_10.1.1_Microsoft_Windows_Multilingual_(CIA61ML)_[tm1_clt_10.1.1_win_ml].tar.gzv
file. Durign installation I have only selected TM1 Architect and all other components disabled.

Installation finished successfully. I have started the program from Start | Programs | IBM Cognos TM1 | Architect.
I got error:
C:\Program files\ibm\cognos\tm1\bin\tm1a.exe This application failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem.

I have uninstalled Cognos TM1 client and reinstall it. The same error message.

Any idea what is wrong?

Do you have the 32-bit Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Runtime installed on that machine?

I installed as you have recommended and problem is solved.

Don't really understand why application does not report that this additional software is required when TM1 Architect is started without success...
