Hi All,
I'm wondering whether anyone here has tried to move CXMD folder for CX 10.1 to a different folder. I have moved my CXMD to a different drive and now my TM1 web does not work. Xcelerator and Contributor works fine.

Yes, I usually move it away from C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Cognos Expres\Xcelerator\smth I do not remember\CXMD to a different drive. I leave the CXMD folder there, with the single tm1s.cfg file in it and so no need for reregistering the service. Then change the data and log directory entries in the cgf file to point to the new place.

I would not expect it has anything to do with TM1Web. In CX 10.1, TM1Web directories are not under the folder Xcelerator but have folders directly under C:\...\Cognos Express. It is even more surprising that Contributor works as it is similar to tm1web. Only its workflow is using a different Java application, but once you open up a node, it redirects you to tm1web if I know it well.

I understand it can work on a different drive but there were problems with system manager backups so it was easier for me to leave it in the default directory.

you are right, the built-in backup tool in CX looks to the default data directory only when creating backups and so if you move it you have to build your own process for TM1 data directory backups and schedule if necessary.
