I have an old tm1 cube - extension type 'tab' ( tm1 v6 ? v7 ?) - I thought I would
be able to drop it into my data folder and restart my service and it would get converted to
.cub - but it is not doing amything ( no messages in log file ..)

Any ideas ?
Thanks

Tm1 version 9.5.2

That's going a loooong way back. I don't know when the .tab/.cub divide was (someone here will!) but from memory I am pretty sure that the .tab files can only be read by the 1st version to introduce the .cub format. you have to open the data directory first in that version (which I *think* is v7) to convert all files and then progress upwards to a newer version to do the unicode upgrade. I only ever did this myself just the once when converting from v2e (which was a desktop version that I think equated to server version 6) to v8.

Your problem is going to be finding a working copy of v7 or whatever the exact version is that can do the .tab to .cub conversion. There would not be too many folks with bin dir archives going that far back.

.tabs are v6. I have v7, which as Lotsaram says was the first to have .cub extensions. I'm not sure what the best way is of helping, though - I have the server and client directories and programmes, but not sure what the licensing implications are, if any. I suspect Infocat will have these as well.

I was able to convert - my issue was the tab (aka cub) was using some old dimensions that did not have on the server -
after putting these dims on the server and restarting the tab file was converted to cub .

Thanks for your help
