TM1 Recalc and Excel Screen Updating

After upgrading to TM1 10.1 we've noticed that when you recalc TM1 reports in Excel the screen updating turns off, then back after on after the calculations are complete.
We used to be able to see the cells updating during the recalc... which gave us a sense of progress... Now with the screen updating turned off during the recalc...some users with large reports think Excel is frozen and not doing anything during the recalc.
Is there a way to turn back on the screen updating during the recalc like before?
