If I remember rightly variable feeder do not play well with persistent feeders???

I think you mean conditional feeders?

I don't know that they will necessarily create problems for Persistent Feeders, other than the usual problems with conditional feeders, which might get resolved by restarting the server, but which won't be if you use Persistent Feeders.

Anyway, as far as Persistent Feeders go, I would avoid them wherever possible.

Thanks for the heads up Paul. The client I am working on has used them in the past as the data was only loaded once a month. As this changed I was looking in to getting this changed. Based on what you have posted I'll look at this sooner rather than later,

I only have limited experience with persistent feeders, because I keep them turned off during development as a matter of discipline.

It's difficult to develop and test feeders while persistent feeders are turned on, as you can't tell which feeders are working live and which are simply persisted from earlier versions of the rules. I also encourage clients to keep them turned off unless they have a very solid case for using them.

The only issue I know about them is they will persist ALL feeders valid or not. So when changes in data trigger changes in feeders, the old feeders will persist and take up RAM, even across server re-starts.

If you have frequently-changing data, this could take it's toll on performance.
