Hi All

Just installed TM1Web and getting the following error:

"Error occurred while converting the MS Excel workbook into XML format: Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

I only get this error when I launch a spreadsheet that I have saved within the Applications folder or try to export a view to excel. I can browse the normal views without any issues.

Any ideas ?

Cheers
Ajay

Only a wild guess... check that the TM1 Excel service is running on the server. If it is I'd consider stopping and restarting it. This is the kind of business that would be handled by that service, which suggests to me that that may be the source of the problem.

Thanks Alan

Done this, as well as rebooted the server too, but problem still exists.

I've checked the IIS manager too. This shows ASP.Net 1.1.4322 as Allowed but also shows ASP.NET 2.0.50727 as Prohibited, all other entries are prohibited also. Any thing here that might be causing the issues ?

Regards
Ajay

I would change to domain account to run the TM1 Excel service if that's not the case, restart this service.

Also 9.4 MR1 requires .NET 3.0 framework installed. Within IIS, change the default ASP.NET version to 2.0. Restart IIS .

Sorry everyone

I'm guilty of a school boy error......pre-2002 version of excel was loaded hence error message.

Loaded 2003 and restarted TM1 Excel Service....all nice and dandy now.

Thanks everyone
Ajay

If you haven't solved it yet, may-be check the next:
Have you published an excel report with xls error #REF?
Because the moment you open this report on TM1Web your are in trouble and Applix always gives the false error messages.
If a report is opened for the very first time in Tm1Web he produces a template of in the cache memory.
for that he shortly starts excel service.
When the #REF error is in the file, excel service will be blocked and he will put a file with extension .bak in the cache memory.
From that moment on a lot of things go wrong with Applix. you can install and re install as much as you want, as long as these .bak
files are there you will stay in trouble.
Your problem that occurs seems of the same nature to me, may-be this is the cause.

Hi,

just encountered the same error message and the solution was to remove conditional formatting from the worksheet.
Seems like conditional formatting is different in Excel 2007 & 2010 and doesn't play well with TM1 9.5.2 where these versions are not officially supported.

Cheers,
Dan
