10.1 Application Web(contributor) blank screen

Post by Mark H »

Risking your wrath here.....

Created Application using Performance Modeler - just one cube-view + Approval Hierarchy

• Lauching using TM1 Application Web (Contributor).
• Assigned Top level access using 'Reviewer Edit' + depth ALL
• Model Opens and displays full Approval Hierarchy correctly
• Individual Node opens but does not display Grid - just name of tab [OC Expenses]
• No error message
• Same model opens correctly in Cognos Insight
• Version 10.1

User/User Group is Admin so already has full Cube access.
Have created additional users/groups and assigned WRITE access at Cube and Dimension level and assigned just submit access to lowest level node.
Always the same result. Does not display grid.

I have attached a screen print showing problem.

Thanks all.

Install Fix Pack 1 or add the contributor url (fqdn mostly) to the intranet sites.

Thanks Marco : not worked I'm afraid. Have you seen this exact thing before?

I think i have an authentication issue on this setup. Will have IT help me out tomorrow. Otherwise i will get back to you.

I have seen this when trying to access through an unsupported browser (believe it was chrome or opera) flipped over to one of the supported versions of IE and everything was fine.

Can see you're using IE from your screenshots but what version is it? Is it one of those listed by IBM as compatible? Have you tried any others?

Using IE 9. That seems to be supported as 'Active' version.

Once more this Forum has provided me with the answer or the inspiration to find the answer.

I was accessing the Admin Server directly using remote desktop where i was experiencing a duplicate authentication process. One was wanting my windows Id instead of the plain TM1 authentication. Server side using IE 9.

Whilst investigating the IE versions i tried accessing from my desktop (using IE 8) i did not have dual authentication and node opened correctly.

Now investigating the authentication set up.

Thanks all.

Next question is of course - when will Contributor be available as 'distributed' deployment.???

Not sure if this is what you mean - but Cognos Insight can be used in Distributed mode as a client for TM1 (Contributor) Applications, where all data processing is performed locally until the data is committed.

@Stephen: Yes that is correct. Only now getting used to the idea that we can have many different clients accessing the same thing. Confusing old terminology with new. And if it isnt already obvious i have only recently x-training from Cognos EP. (sorry all). Spent 90% of time developing my modelling skills post certification now improving my client tool knowledge.

Still can't see how to organise my applications into Folders in the application folders ....
