What is TM1 v10.1 planning solution and does it run on Linux

Hi,
currently we are using Cognos BI v8.4.1 (Report Studio) on Windows 2008 RC2 accessing data from Cognos TM1 v9.5.2 cubes on the same Windows 2008 RC2 machine exclusively for reporting purposes.

Now we are in the process of planning new hardware and software. Now one of system admins suggested to move Cognos products from Windows to Linux during hardware and software upgrade.

In first quarter of next year we are also planning to start working with some planning solution (using TM1 as a base product). For v9.5.2 to use TM1 as planning solution there was Cognos Contributor solution that was only available on Windows. Now in v10.1 from Cognos TM1 10.1 Software Environments web page: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.w ... wg27021976 I am seeing there is no Cognos Contributor listed, so it looks it is not supported.

Question 1: What is the product to use planning solution using TM1 server v10.1? Does this new product run entierly on Linux?

Question 2: Like I see from above web link Linux is actually officially Red Had Enterprise Linux only. Has anyone installed and run Cognos TM1 products in production any other Linux distribution like Suse Linux Enterprise Server?

TM1 Applications is the new name for what was contributor.

As for wanting to run outside of a windows environment; yes it is possible to install most components but for TM1 Applications (and TM1 Web possibly) you need IIS.
