Hi all,
I have 2 Cubes: Plan and Plan_Adjustment. I have created properly functioning rules for both of these cubes (1 for each cube). After a reboot of Perspectives, the rules files are not available to see when expanding the cube (in the server explorer), nor are the RUX files listed in my directory. Any idea of why this has happened or how to get my rules files back?
Thanks,
James

Hello there
Do you happen to see the same rules files in the data directory, but with extension .rux$ instead of .rux?
What kind of rules editor do you use? The basic one or the "somewhat more advanced one"?
I am afraid you will need to hope for a backup of some sort.

Re: RUX Rules File Disappears
Hello,
There is no .rux$ file in my directory and I am using the basic rules editor. Do you recommend saving rules in a text file as a back up? I think I may do this from now on to prevent a set back such as this one from happening again.
Thanks,
James

Re: RUX Rules File Disappears
So, it sounds like you are running a local server in Perspectives. What is your setting for Data Directory? Does your account have write privileges to this folder? Are you running Windows 7? When running Windows 7 if you don't run Perspectives with Admin privileges to the data folder you may not be able to save the RUX files. That's your likely cause.

Re: RUX Rules File Disappears
Tomok,
That appears to be the exact problem. I am running Windows 7 but have not been running Perspectives as Admin.
Thanks for the help all,
James
