I have deployed an application in TM1 contributor and for which i am trying to assign rights in Manage Rights window, but i dont see the groups i created in Architect. I am using IntegratedSecurityMode '2' and have defined ClientCAMURI,ServerCAMURI in .cfg file properly and have set the AllowImportCAMClient option in TM1p.ini file and mentiond the cognos Gateway URI as well. I am able to connect to the Cognos Namespace but i don see the groups i created using cognos namespace in TM1 Contributor

You need to go back and read the documentation, you are using the wrong security mode.

Initially i gave the integratedsecuritymode as 2 and created a group and assigned Admin rights to the user. Then i stopped the server and changed the security mode 4 and restarted the server. When i try to login to the application in Architect , it was taking through Cognos 8 login and i am able to login to the application. But now i am not able to login to contributor with both Admin and another client for which Admin group rights has been provided. I tried with integratedsecuritymode 5 as well. i am not able to work it out.

Clients and Groups have to be created in the 8 BI server (Cognos Connection). Then we need to pull them into TM1 and map them accordingly . The groups which are created in TM1 will not appear if the mode is integratedsecuritymode 5.

The same is also true for TM1 Performance Modeler / TM1 Applications in version 10.1.1. And this is really frustrating, as the documentation of IntegratedSecurityMode clearly states:

The server uses IBM Cognos BI security authentication and supports user groups from both Cognos TM1 and Cognos BI. Use security mode 5 when you are running IBM Cognos TM1 Applications with IBM Cognos BI security.

Sad to say that one could almost expect some exceptions ...
