CX Report studio - using TM1 dimension in 'Value Prompt'

Post by AlastairFM »

I have created a Cognos Express report in Report Studio (Professional Authoring mode) which is based on a datasource based on the CXMD server.

At the top of the report I have a 'Value prompt' that allows the user to select an element from one of the dimensions - the purpose being to filter the report's crosstab query. This works fine and I have no issues here. The problem is that the element values are very unfriendly and hard to identify - so I would like to use a dimension alias that shows a more acceptable value.

Now a 'Value prompt' setup like this will show the alias values and will filter the crosstab data without a problem but it has one large drawback. At the top of a normal 'Value prompt' there is an 'All Elements' entry that is automatically added by the system. It appears when you use an alias as the 'Display value' for the prompt this 'All Elements' entry changes to show the MUN of that 'element' (like that below) - which is enormous, makes the control 3 times wider and upsets the formatting of the report.

[Dimension].[Heirarchy].[Level]->:[TM].[Dimension].[Level].[@Member].[All Elements]

Does anyone know of a setting or property that can be defined to either change this back to 'All Elements' or suppress this automatic entry all together ?
