Contributor work flow dimension displaying wrong

I recently updated the dimension in my model that is used as my contributor dimension. After I updated this dimension when I log into contributor as an admin everything looks good. However other users who are not admins are seeing that the hierarchy is completely messed up where leaf level items are attaching 2 levels above where they should. I have experienced this before and my solution was to run the delete admin all process and reimport the apps. This is an in production system and this is not an option for me. Has anybody experienced this before and how did you solve the problem?
