Business Insight and Port Forwarding

Post by jim wood »

Guys,

We are having trouble getting TM1 to integrate with Business Insight (10.1.1). We have followed the documented steps without success. The only things I can think of are:

1) We are using security level 5 rather than (as it states in teh online document) level 2.
2) Our web server is using port forwarding to access TM1Web so that the user goes straight to TM1Web when entering http://server rather than http://server/TM1Web.

Personally I think it may be the second point rather than the first. (In the .atom file you have to set the virtual directory which we left as TM1Web) Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance,

Jim.

I'm assuming you are using the same web server for both BI and TM1?

It may be that your port forwarding is causing the issue as your port forward may make it such that Insight is seeing http://server/Tm1web/Tm1web or Something else weird

Can you see anything in your web server logs?

Are you using IIS for BI? How to you acres BI...do you have a dns alias or redirect or http headers? Have you tried playing with the .atom file? Nothing listed for virtual directory or ../Tm1web. I believe this would back you up a level from the BI site and then put you in the TM1web virtual directory? Might need to validate that last point.

BI and and TM1 are different boxes but we do have TM1 installed on the BI box for connection purposes. We have however found the problem. The customer I am am working with mis-typed one of the settings in the .atom file.

basic error and don't worry I'm on my way to get my coat....
