Dimension conflicts

I have a dimension linked to 7 individual cubes. On recreating this dimension through TI I encountered an error whereby the process aborted and only showed
MetaData procedure:

with no reference to any records on the Error log file.
When trying to access the associated cubes, some now refer to the following error message "Default : No read access to elements, cannot view", some have the attributes missing from the dimension and says that there is no data within the cube however looking at the .cub file sizes I know the data is still there - I just can't get to it :o

I have copied the .txt dimension file and created a new seperate dimension successfully.

What my concerns are - why all of a sudden am I getting a "corrupt" dimension and will this re-occur, in addtion to how do I resolve this without losing any data from the cubes that I can no longer access :?

A strange one. Have you tried converting it to create to create a completely seperate dimension? Also have you checked to see if the dim file is read only? Some newer versions of windows locks down file found within teh program files directory.
