FAP

Post by Beast »

Am just getting to grips with the Controller FAP functionality in TM1. I would like to rename or recreate the default TM1 cube created FAPMonthlyCompanyDetails to something a little more elegant / intuitive. Has anybody managed to do this yet ? Would appear to be set in the FAP Client ? Anybodyelse considered this ?

Good luck with FAP
I envisage the design sessions within IBM including requirements like 'we need to make absolutely sure that no-one can make FAP do anything useful apart from what it does out of the box'.

Create a Cube that suits your reporting requirements i.e. appropriate dimensions and then use the rules or TI.

TI - should be fine.
Rules - my recollection is that FAP rebuilds its cubes every time it is run. How will that work?

"Rules - my recollection is that FAP rebuilds its cubes every time it is run. How will that work?" In Controller 8.5.1x onwards FAP is not rebuilt every time.
But timestamps slow changing dimensions (SCD) which presents its own sets of challenges. Also it would also be worth considering the licensing as licenses with FAP are supposed to be read only. Again speak to your IBM Rep. who should be able to clarify more.
