Hi all,

We are currently using version 9.5.1 and the bosses are thinking of upgrading to 9.5.2 FP1. The security login is using IntegratedSecurityMode 5 i.e. Cognos 8 authentication.

For those who have experience in upgrading TM1 version in an instance that uses all non-native (i.e. mode 1) authentication, I would like to seek your advice on the following.

Is the upgrade process the same i.e no difference from using native TM1 authenication? In this case, it will be uninstall 9.5.1, install 9.5.2, then apply FP1 over.

Is there anything that needs to done at Cognos 8 security admin? I'm assuming no as the TM1s.cfg file will have defined the security set-up, which remains unchanged.

Look forward to your reply!

Harry

We tested both 9.5.1 and 9.5.2 on teh same box connecting to the same CAM security using teh same service. We had no trouble testing 9.5.2 after testing 9.5.1. All teh security setting are retained in the CFG file and all the users (and groups) are retained in the control cubes.

I would be more worried if:
1) You were upgrading your version of BI and
2) You were moving from 8.4 and you had to hit the unicode issue.
