Access Denied error while saving tm1s.cfg

Hi All,

I am installing TM1 9.5.2 FP1 version on Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise server (x64).

I chose "Run as Administrator" on setup.exe and the installation completed fine. But after installation, I added a few parameters in the tm1s.cfg file and I am getting "Access is denied" error while trying to save the file. I am a part of Adminstrators group on the server and have WRITE permissions on the folder and the configuration file is not read-only. Has anyone encountered this issue before? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Try running windows explorer as administrator, and then editing the tm1s.cfg file from there.

Got it. Just came to know about the UAC feature in Windows 7. Thanks.

UAC has been wound back a lot in Win 7 compared to Vista, since it was the most universally griped-about feature of the former abomination. It was getting under your feet constantly. The problem is that Server 2008 is still a Vista-era creation so it may still be a bit biased toward "more nagging" rather than the less of the Win 7 generation, though I'll admit that haven't had the pleasure of using Server 2008 to date so I'm not sure to what extent that's the case. Hopefully MS will learn from the lessons of Vista in future releases of all of its OS's, though.
