Member Names for different Languages

Hi,

As we can set different aliases in a TM1 dimension to be names for different languages in Cognos 8 BI using Framework Manager, does anyone know if it is possible to access to the names of an element in different languages in a Cognos 8 Report Studio report?

Thanks for any responses in advance.

Regards,

This material does not answer my question. I am able to use attributes in Report Studio. I want to be able to access name (alias) in different languages in one report for the same user. I do not want to use attribute as there are inefficiencies with using attributes regarding performance and scalability.

Actually I think it does. It is discussed in the thread that FM only allows you to bring in a single alias (which is how element names in different languages would be handled in TM1). You either use text attributes instead of aliases OR you have to set up a separate package for each language. Hopefully IBM fix this at some point ...

This is not correct. FM allows you to select different aliases for different languages. And users can change their preferneces in Cognos BI to choose in which language they wan to see the reports. Accordingly it uses different aliases.
But I want to be able to access to names in different languages (different aliases) in the same Report Studio report by the same user without any changes to user preferences.
