TM1 User Name in Spreadsheet ?

Post by nocaster51 »

Hi guys,

I want to put a function into my spreadsheet which displayed the TM1 users name on the spreadsheet.

ie - if I log into TM1 as "BBloggs" - that is what I would like to be able to display on a cell on my spreadsheet.

I want to use it to write to some sort of audit log in excel ( long and boring story which I wont go into here !)

I guess there might be a TM1 function to help with this ? Any ideas how to do it ?

thanks in advance.

Hi:

If you're using TM1 9.5 (as your profile seems to indicate) then you should be able to use the TM1USER function (which is also valid in Turbo Integrator and even TM1 Rules, despite what the documentation says):
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocente ... 1user.html

That function is discussed in a number of threads on the forum, for example:
http://www.tm1forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&p=5000
http://www.tm1forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6285

What you're hoping to do in terms of generating an audit log in Excel I'm not really clear on (it does sound a bit odd), but this will at least get you the current TM1 user name appearing in Excel (if connected to the TM1 server). Hope that helps.

Regards,
Mike
