Can Cognos Express model be more than 2 GB in memory?

3GB on 32-bit and lots more than that in 64-bit.

64 bit Windows?
or 64 bit Cognos Express?

TM1 to have 2 versions of 32 bit and 64 bit.
We have a distribution Cognos Express. This is a 32 bit app or 64 bit?

The Cognos Express version that is publicy available will run only on 64 Bit hardware and software. Therefore it can be more than 2Gb in memory if needed.

Both have to be 64 bit versions as you cannot install 64-bit software on 32-bit operating systems.

My crystal ball is telling me that I don't know. Could be either, most likely 64.

The 32-bit install of Express will run on both windows 32-bit and 64-bit. The 64-bit version will only run on 64-bit. I guess you have to think about your model size. If you think there is a chance that the model use more than 3GB of RAM then go with 64-bit windows and express. If you don't think it will then stick with 32-bit versions of both. Also take hardware in to account. If you server doesn't have more than 4GB of RAM it's not worth going with 32-bit.

I hope that clears things up for you. This has been discussed many times on the forum so if you do a search I'm sure you'll find further info. Also if you contact IBM support I'm sure they'll be more than willing to go through the architecture differences in more detail.
